Clouds will give way to sunshine and a breeze this afternoon.
Updated: Saturday morning, June 14th
Reported by: Meteorologist Steve Newton

Any clouds leftover this morning will dissipate as high pressure takes hold and temperatures climb into the 70s Saturday afternoon. A lack of cloud cover and light winds Saturday night into Sunday will have the region starting out in the 40s Sunday, but temperatures will get to near 80° in the valley spots with mid and upper 70s in the Laurel Highlands and Northern Tier. High pressure will move off to the east late Sunday, with more in the way of showers and thunderstorms returning for next week. Monday will start with sunshine, but showers and storms will return for the afternoon. Highs Monday will get into the 80s in many locations, but it will start feeling muggy Monday morning ahead of the showers. It’s at this point the proverbial record breaks, as the pattern of a partly sunny sky with showers and thunderstorms takes hold again and lasts through much of the coming week. High temperatures for much of the week will be in the low and mid 80s, so it will feel like summer even though it’s officially about a week away.
