The high pressure that’s been over the region the last few days is starting to drift off to our east, and that will set up for more humid air to return to the region as we go into the weekend. We’re starting in the upper 40s and low 50s across the region. Overall Friday will be fairly comfortable with a mix of clouds and sunshine; in the afternoon though a few showers or thundershowers may develop, especially across the Laurel Highlands. High temperatures will be in the mid 70s further to the west, with temperatures in the upper 70s and near 80 degrees in the valley spots. The overnight hours into Saturday while not very muggy will be a touch warmer with low temperatures in the low 50s. Humid air will move in Saturday, but we’ll also have an easterly flow from the Atlantic moving into the region. We will end up with more clouds than sunshine Saturday, and showers scattered across the region. With this set up though, the majority of the showers will be west of I-99. Some locations in the Laurel Highlands could stay in the upper 60s, but many locations will see highs in the low or even mid 70s Saturday. The easterly flow will ease going into Sunday, and the entire region will be humid with clouds and sunshine. Going into next week we are going to fall back into the pattern we’ve been in for much of the last four to six weeks, with a mix of clouds and sunshine and scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some locations will make it through a day dry, while others that see a shower or thunderstorm could see heavy downpours. High temperatures next week will be in the low and mid 80s, but with all the moisture in the atmosphere we will only see low temperatures the 60s.
