More Central PA Athletes Win State Track Titles

3 individuals and a relay team won state titles on Saturday afternoon in Shippensburg.
The State College 4x800 meter relay team was trailing the field going into the final leg of the AAA relay, but William Cather pulled away on the final leg to capture gold.  The team’s time of 7:41.99 breaks a school record that dates back to 1969.  The time is one of the best in the nation this year.
Elk County Catholic's Kennedy Weisman won two state titles, the AA 1600 and 800 meter runs.  She finishes her high school career with four gold medals.
In the AA boys’ pole vault, top-seeded Gus Yahner from Northern Cambria wins with a mark of 15 feet.
Nothern Bedford's Blake Over, seeded 17th in the AA long jump, beats his season best by more than a foot to win the championship. (22’-04”).
