Monday Morning Forecast, August 11, 2014

Increasing cloudiness today.
AN AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE THAT PROVIDED SUNSHINE AND PLEASANT TEMPERATURES THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL START TO SLIDE EASTWARD, MAKING WAY FOR A STORM SYSTEM TO APPROACH THE REGION. WE WILL HAVE SOME EARLY FOG THEN A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS.  CLOUDS WILL EVENTUALLY WIN OUT AS A SLOW MOVING STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES THE REGION FROM THE SOUTHWEST.  THERE COULD BE A SHOWER OR STORM POP-UP IN ADVANCE OF THAT FRONTAL SYSTEM EARLY TODAY.  HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 70s IN THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS (WHERE CLOUDS MOVE IN EARLIER)  TO THE UPPER 70s OR NEAR 80 FARTHER TO THE EAST (WHERE RAIN WILL LIKELY HOLD OFF UNTIL NIGHTTIME).  TONIGHT, AS THE WARM FRONT STARTS TO MOVE ACROSS THE REGION, WE’LL HAVE SHOWERS AND SOME HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS.  STORMS COULD CONTAIN HEAVY DOWNPOURS THAT HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE FLOODING OR PONDING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND ALSO ALONG SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS.  TOMORROW THE ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT STARTS TO PUSH INTO THE REGION.  WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE SHOWERS AND STORMS.  AGAIN, SOME RAINFALL COULD BE LOCALLY HEAVY.  SKIES ON TUESDAY WILL BE MOSTLY CLOUDY.   TEMPERATURES WILL AVERAGE IN THE MID 70s.  THE FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH BY TUESDAY NIGHT.  WEDNESDAY WILL BE COOL FOR AUGUST WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 70s.  WE’LL HAVE CLOUDS AND A FEW BREAKS.  THERE WILL BE A FEW SPOTTY SHOWERS AROUND THE REGION.  ON THURSDAY WE WILL HAVE A MIXTURE OF CLOUDS AND SUNSHINE AND TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 70s.  THOUGH A STRAY SHOWER IS POSSIBLE, MANY LOCATIONS WILL BE DRY.  HIGH PRESSURE MOVES IN, AND FRIDAY WILL BE PARTLY SUNNY WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70s.  WE’LL HAVE A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS ON SATURDAY AND IT WILL BE A BIT WARMER WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70s TO AROUND 80.  SUNDAY LOOKS NICE AS WELL WITH A PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY SKY AND TEMPERATURES REACHING THE LOW 80s.
