Man Killed in Train Collision

A Clearfield County man was killed when the utility vehicle he was driving collided with a train
DUBOIS, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - A Clearfield County man died after his utility vehicle was hit by a train.

Sandy Township police identified the man 89-year-old Robert Kennedy from Dubois.

Police say Kennedy was riding in a side-by-side along route 219 and Watson Highway around noon Wednesday when the accident happened.

They say Kennedy was crossing the railroad tracks toward route 219, when he traveled into the path of a Buffalo & Pittsburgh train.

The UTV reportedly struck the lead engine pushing Kennedy 30 feet from the tracks.

He was flown to UPMC Altoona where he died Wednesday evening.
