Man Found Guilty of Sexually Assaulting Girl with Disabilities

Phillip Colton of Osceola Mills was found guilty of 62 charges of sexually abusing a mentally challenged girl.
BELLEFONTE, CENTRE COUNTY - After a one day jury trial Phillip Colton of Osceola Mills, Centre County, was found guilty on 62 charges of sexually abusing a mentally challenged girl. Those charges included felony charges of Rape of a Child less than 13 Years of Age, Rape of a Child with Mental Disabilities, Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse of a Child with Mental Disabilities, and Sexual Abuse of a Child.

The charges arose from multiple incidents of sexual abuse from January, 2010 – January, 2013 wherein Colton preyed upon and abused a mentally disabled girl.  The victim was 10 years old at the time the abuse started but due to a mental disability has the mental cognition of a 6 year old child.  Colton was like a family member.  Abusing this trust, Colton was able to create time alone with the victim where he abused the victim at his home in Osceola Mills while her family was working or away.
