Major Legal Blow Against NCAA?

A judge ruled Friday that the NCAA cannot stop universities from sharing certain profits with players.
A federal judge friday made a ruling that could eventually allow a university to provide more compensation to student athletes.

The judge ruled that the NCAA can't stop universities in sharing profits that come from a college athlete's name, image or likeness. The case was tied to a former UCLA college basketball star Ed O'Bannon. But it could impact the entire NCAA system and how colleges compensate athletes. However, appeals could stall any changes for years.
