Local Man Creates Model of Palace of Versailles, France

20-Year-Old Alex McKinstry was diagnosed with Autism at age three, but has always been talented with art. His model of the Palace of Versailles is now on display in Paris, Tennessee.

Alex McKinstry was diagnosed with Autism at the age of three. At the same time, his mother Betty Jean says he developed a talent for art. Pen and paper were his preferred method of creating. Now, Alex uses many different mediums and his work is on display in locations around Central PA and in Tennessee.

On today's show, Alex and his mother talk about a model of the Palace of Versailles in France that Alex made for Paris, Tennessee.  Alex got the idea to create the model from his love of the story of The Three Muskateers.  The Mayor of Paris made Alex a "muskateer" for his work and gave him several other awards.

He and his family are from the Mundy's Corner area of Cambria County.
