JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- A pain management doctor was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday and was arrested Wednesday.
Dr. Glenn Davis’s home and office were raided by the federal government in May 2013. Nearly a year later he was arrested.
“Dr. Davis do you have anything to say, ‘No.”
U. S Attorney David J. Hickton said that Davis was giving out an excessive amount of prescription pain medicine.
“His prescriptions with these addictive drugs were outside the course of normal professional practices,” said Hickton.
According to the 136 count indictment, Davis would prescribe one patient 450 oxycodone pills. 8-9 of them were to be taken every four hours and then five days later who would prescribe the same prescription again to the same person.
“The evidence will show that pharmacist began not to fill these prescriptions. This is not normal practice for these highly potent additive pills," said Hickton.
Davis is due in court Monday. If convicted Davis could face 20 years in prison and a fine of one million dollars or both.
