UNIVERSITY PARK - Longtime Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson tells PennLive.com that he will not return to the Penn State program in 2014.

Johnson says that new head football coach James Franklin offered Johnson a chance to stay on as the defensive line coach, but Johnson decided it's time to move on.

The 61-year-old says he will not retire, and plans to coach next season.  He spent 18 seasons at Penn State.

Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel is reporting that Johnson is closing in on a deal to coach the defensive line for Ohio State.
