STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY -- The Nittany Lion mascot made rounds with over 130 folks welcoming students back for the school year.

Now in it's 7th year, the LION Walk promotes health and safety as well as neighborhood sustainability. It's all about Living In One Neighborhood.

State College police officers, Mayor Elizabeth Goreham, student leaders and Penn State University President Dr. Eric Parron paid a visit.

As Dr. Barron points out, "We've got this great opportunity for us to just make the relationship between students and the university and the borough and make it even greater."

Welcome packets with information about State College borough ordinances, local social service agencies and University services were given to each resident.
