Lemont Man Charged with Possessing Child Pornography

Alexander Park is charged with 25 counts of possessing child pornography.
Alexander Park, 24, is charged with 25 counts of possessing child pornography after investigators say he was uploading files with children engaging in sexual acts or posing sexually.

A special investigator with the state Attorney General's Child Predator Section says Park uploaded images in April and again in late May.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators have been looking into Park since the middle of June. They received a cybertip from Google linking Park's email address and IP address to five files with suspected child pornography.

On July 31st, Agents with the Attorney General's office and State College Police officers issued a search warrant at Park's Lemont house where he resides with his parents. Police found three computers and 64gb thumb drive containing child pornographic images.

According to the criminal complaint, no one was home at the time of the search. Park's father came home after being notified.  The criminal complaint says Park's dad told police the devices belonged to his son.

Alexander Park was at the Greene Hill Camp in Barree, Huntingdon County, for a Christian Music Festival. He was with a group from the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church where he is a Youth Leader.

Witnesses say police arrived at the camp around 12:15pm; they asked for Park's location and quietly took him into an area at the camp for questioning.

The criminal complaint says Park admitted to possessing the child pornography images/videos on the computer and thumb drive.

Park's bail is set at $50,000.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 6th.
