Johnstown Homicide Suspect Facing Charges in Virginia

Police conducted a seven-hour manhunt to locate and arrest Earl Mitchell Thursday.
MANASSAS, VIRGINIA – The suspect in a Johnstown Homicide was arrested Thursday evening in Virginia and faces charges there.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, Earl Mitchell has been charged with multiple offenses.

Prince William County has charged Mitchell with two counts of abduction and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Manassas City has charged him with fugitive from justice, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a concealed weapon, and felony eluding.

County, City and State Police along with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force conducted a seven-hour manhunt after he was cited in Manassas and eluded police.

Mitchell was located in a home in the city and arrested without incident. He is in the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center in Manassas.
