Inmate Sparks Fire In Cell

Then attacks officer.
BENNER TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY - A Centre County prison inmate is facing more charges after allegedly starting a fire in his cell and police say when officers responded to that fire, the inmate attacked them.

State Police at Rockview say the 29 year old inmate at SCI Benner started a fire in his cell on March 3rd. When officers opened the inmate's cell to put out the fire, he allegedly hit an officer in the head.

Police say the suspect was restrained and the fire was out out. Charges are pending in the case.
