Home Destroyed By Fire

Fire ruled accidental, caused by wood burner.
UPPER YODER TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY - 6 fire companies responded to a house-fire at 5:45am Monday on the 500 block of Swank Street.

The man living in the home managed to get out and is okay, but his house is likely destroyed beyond repair according to fire officials.

The roof partially collapsed during the fire, and much of the inside of the home was burned.

The fire took about 1 hour and 45 minutes to put out according to the Upper Yoder Assistant Fire Chief. No firefighters were injured.

At one point electrical wires fell and had to be cleared while the fire was being extinguished.

Investigators say the fire was caused by a wood burner, and has been ruled accidental.
