Home Depot entering 3-D printer market

The home-improvement chain will start selling MakerBot printers in 12 stores.
ATLANTA – Home Depot has announced a pilot program to sell 3-D printers in some of their stores.

The Atlanta-based retailer will sell MakerBot printers in 12 stores in California, Illinois and New York.

Each store that sells the printers has a kiosk staffed by MakerBot workers to demonstrate how they work and print small keepsakes for customers. The printers make 3-D plastic objects.

Home Depot has been selling the printers on their website for the past three months, but this is the first time they have been sold in stores.
