JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Doctors at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital said despite the frigid temps they have not seen an increase in patients.
“It started out really slow,” said Dr. Daniel Wehner, Department of Emergency Medicine. “We only had one couple admitted for carbon monoxide due to a faulty furnace.”
Wehner said during this cold spell it’s important for people to be prepared, wear extra clothing and pack extra items like blankets in their car incase of an emergency.
“We saw more cases of hypothermia last week than we are currently seeing right now,” said Wehner. ‘I think people are more aware and are being careful.”
