Friday Midday Forecast January 31, 2014

Milder temps but some snow or mixed showers to start the weekend.
Updated Friday Midday, January 31st
Reported by Meteorologist Regina Miller

This afternoon will be a little milder with temps rising into the mid 30s.  We could have some patchy flurries or drizzle to the south.  To the north, along the I-80 corridor there could a bit of light snow during the afternoon.  Tonight there could be a bit of light snow, mix or freezing rain around into the morning hours.  Any precipitation looks light and sporadic. Mild air will try to move even more into the region on Saturday but may have a tough time near and east of I-99 where temperatures will not rise out of the 30s. Temperatures will rise to near 40 Saturday night with the next system bringing rain showers night into very early Sunday. This means that there likely will be a lot of clouds for when Phil comes out of his stump Sunday morning. A cold front will pass through Sunday morning with rain showers changing to snow showers before ending Sunday afternoon. There may be some clearing later Sunday. High pressure will give us some sunshine on Monday with near seasonal temperatures. Another storm may bring a wintry mix on Tuesday into Wednesday of next week. We'll have a better feel as we head closer to the time.
