Former FBI Director Louis Freeh Seriously Injured in Car Accident

Officials in Vermont say Freeh was transported by helicopter to a hospital.
Ex-FBI Director Louis Freeh, 64, remains in the hospital with serious injuries following a car crash in Barnard, Vermont, Monday afternoon.

Police say Freeh was driving on Vermont Route 12 when he drove off the roadway, striking a mailbox, a row of shrubs, and finally coming to rest on the side of a tree. Freeh was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. He was transported by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.

No one else was injured.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
