Fire Destroys Local Business

Six fire companies worked into the night to extinguish the flames.
CENTRE HALL, CENTRE COUNTY – Route 322 reopened Monday morning nearly 12 hours after a fire broke out at a business along the road.

Six companies responded to Scott’s Landscaping around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Flames were spread by strong winds and a Hazmat team was on scene Monday to ensure there were no more flare-ups.

Crews cleared the scene around 3:30 a.m. Monday. The State Police Fire Marshal will begin examining the scene to determine the cause Monday.

No one was injured in the fire. Workers from Scott’s Landscaping were at the building Monday morning trying to clean out offices and salvage what they can.
