Evening Forecast Tuesday, May 6th, 2014

We'll have scattered rainfall as warmer air makes a return.
Updated: Tuesday Evening, May 6th, 2014
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

The combination of sunshine and a westerly wind helped to take the chill our of the air fast today with highs in the 60s to near 70. Tonight will start mainly clear but some clouds will start to drift in as a warm front approaches the region. There may be a shower in spots by dawn. It will still be a bit cool tonight with lows in the 40s. This warm front will bring more clouds than sunshine Wednesday along with a scattering of showers and thunderstorms. The combination of a southeasterly wind, some clouds and precipitation will make it tough for the mercury to rise higher than the lower to middle 60s. This warm front will try to lift north of the area on Thursday. As long as it does, the mercury will surge well into the 70s even with a couple of showers and thunderstorms moving through the region. If the front gets stalled, some places may not leave the 60s. Everyone should enjoy the warmth on Friday with temperatures reaching to near 80 in most locations. It will also be humid on Friday with a pop up shower or thunderstorm in places. A slow moving front will bring numerous showers and thunderstorms, some with heavier downpours, on Saturday. This front may still be closer enough to bring a couple of showers early Sunday then clouds should break for some sunshine. Early next week looks seasonable with only a slight chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm.
