A cooler and very refreshing airmass is moving into the region, and temperatures are about 10 to 15 degrees lower than they were before the front moved through. High temperatures made it into the low 70s in the Laurel Highlands and Northern Tier while locations in the valleys reached into the mid 70s. While there are a few clouds scattered that have popped up across the region, we will be staying dry at least through the evening and overnight hours. Clouds will start to fall apart later this evening and we will end up with a cool and mostly clear night with temperatures falling into the upper 40s in the Northern Tier, but staying in the low 50s for many locations in the valleys and Laurel Highlands. Friday is looking wonderful with sunshine and a few clouds across Western and Central Pennsylvania. After the cool start, we will see temperatures Friday afternoon get into the mid 70s for the Laurel Highlands and Northern Tier, to the upper 70s and near 80° in the valleys. A few clouds will move in early Saturday, and we’ll have a mix of sun and clouds during the day with temperatures getting into the low and mid 80s for the afternoon as a warm front moves into the region. There is a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm late in the day, but the chance for showers looks best overnight Saturday into Sunday. Before the associated cold front moves in Sunday afternoon and into Sunday evening humid air will return to the region. High temperatures Sunday will be in the low and mid 80s with the chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms as the cold front pushes across the region. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday as cooler air will start moving into the region late. The middle of next week is looking as cool, if not cooler, than what we experienced Thursday, with highs in the low to mid 70s.
