After a brief break from the late-spring weather, temperatures rebounded into the 70s across the region today with plenty of sunshine. High pressure will slowly move off to our southeast over the next 12-24 hours, allowing some warm and humid air to move in for Monday. Temperatures will only fall into the mid 50s during the overnight hours with a few clouds moving in late. Monday will start with a good deal of sunshine, but clouds will increase ahead of the next round of showers and thunderstorms that will arrive for the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will get into the low and mid 80s before the rain begins, and it will feel warmer with the humid air. As we go through this week we will be pretty much locked into this pattern with temperatures above seasonal, humid and the risk for thunderstorms and showers each day. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s Monday and Tuesday, mid and even upper 80s Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will fall a little going toward next weekend, but long-range models have the pattern lasting through the weekend.
