Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

After a nice weekend, we're going into a very wet and unsettled weather pattern. This is thanks to a very slow moving storm system in the middle of the nation. Rain has already started to move into the area. We'll have periods of rain tonight along with a bit of a breeze. Temperatures will drop into the 40s. More concentrated moisture will push into the region for Tuesday and Wednesday with rain at varying rates. At times it may be closer to drizzle, but at times some of the rainfall can be heavy and there is a chance for a thunderstorm in places, especially on Wednesday. The combination of an easterly flow and the rainfall will keep temperatures from rising out of the 40s during the day on Tuesday but milder air will sneak into the region Tuesday night and we should have the mercury rebound into the lower 60s in many places on Wednesday. This upper level low pressure system will be very slow to move eastward and the improvement in our weather will be also be gradual through the upcoming weekend. There may be a few more peeks of sunshine through the clouds on Thursday with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will also feature times of clouds and sunshine with the chance for showers and thunderstorms each day. The chance may be a little higher on Saturday as a front sweeps through the region region. Eventually drier and warmer weather will make a return next week.
