Dying to Drive

A program puts drivers behind the wheel so they can see how reaction time is impacted when driving drunk or distracted.
CLEARFIELD COUNTY - High School students, who all recently got their licenses, had the chance to get behind the wheel of the safety bug!

The vehicle, developed by the PA Driving Under the Influence Team, gives drivers the feeling of losing control for 7/10 of a second. It is enough to make them veer off the road and into cones.

The car is sponsored by the Clearfield Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission. The Hampton Inn in Clearfield sponsored three free nights for the mentor who is running the program.

Students say it was scary and made them really realize what could happen driving drunk or distracted.
