Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Matt Kavanagh scored five goals and Notre Dame set up a meeting against Duke in the NCAA men's lacrosse title game after an 11-6 win over Maryland on Saturday.

Defending champion Duke reached the final for the fifth time in 10 years by topping Denver 15-12 in the first semifinal game behind four goals from Kyle Keenan.

Notre Dame never trailed against Maryland after Kavanagh scored five minutes into the game for a 1-0 lead.

John Scioscia and Nick Ossello added two goals each for the Irish, who lost to Duke in 2010 in their only other trip to the final.

Duke will try to become the first team since Syracuse in 2008-09 to win back- to-back titles when it faces the Irish on Monday at M&T Bank Stadium.

Jordan Wolf and Deemer Class had three goals each for the Blue Devils, who took the lead for good when Keenan spun in close on the left side and scored with 6 1/2 minutes remaining in the first half to make it 5-4.

Denver trimmed a five-goal deficit to one twice in the fourth quarter but Duke responded with goals both times and pulled away. Wesley Berg led the Pioneers with five goals.

The Blue Devils also made the final in 2005 and 2007, losing to Johns Hopkins both times.
