Do Women Make Less Than Men?

The President says women still make less money than men for the same job, but do local women agree?
DUNCANSVILLE, BLAIR COUNTY - The President says women still make less money than men for the same job, but do local women agree?

The President made a point of highlighting the salary gap between men and women in the State of the Union address. He said women make 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. He called that an embarrassment.

Jayme Orr owns Serviam Construction. The President’s statement surprised her. Even in a male dominated industry, that doesn’t hold true for her. She says there have been times when people look at her differently because she's a woman. But she proves she can do anything anyone else can by doing quality work and earning her good reputation.

In his state of the union address the president call on everyone to work together to give every woman the opportunity she deserves.

Since she doesn't see the in-equality to begin with, Orr thinks the President should focus on things to help every small business owner, like taxes.
