Altoona players take part in Make-A-Wish event.
ALTOONA - On-field results aside, it's a day of celebration for the Curve.

More than 20 players taking part this evening in the 8th annual Make-A-Wish Curve bowling night.

For some of the players and kids it was their first time bowling.

For all of them, it was an evening of smiles and making memories for a life time.

"As much as we're an inspiration to some people like a lot of these kids that are here in Make-A-Wish, they're kind of an inspiration to us,” first baseman Justin Howard says. “How they've overcome the odds. And they persevere and never give up."

"You see all the players interacting with the fans and the young kids and the parents and stuff,” pitcher Adrian Sampson says. “It's been really cool. I'm having a good time right now."

The bowling night started because of the wish of Dalton Igoe back in 2006.

It’s continued to grow ever since, and he's still a part of it all.
