Crossbow Use Expanded in Pennsylvania

Governor Corbett signed into law new legislation that will allow all hunters in Pennsylvania to use crossbows in archery deer, bear and turkey seasons.
HARRISBURG – Governor Tom Corbett Wednesday signed a bill into law that will allow hunters to use crossbows in archery deer, bear and turkey seasons.

House Bill 1144, introduced by State Rep. Gary Haluska (D – Cambria), eliminates unnecessary language from state law and updates the definition of “bow” to include both crossbows and traditional bows.

Haluska said in a statement the legislation will take effect by early September.
