Crews Close Road to Repair Water Main

A school district at the intersection was not in session Monday.
ROARING SPRING, BLAIR COUNTY – Residents in Roaring Spring are asked to conserve their water while crews work around the clock to repair a broken water main.

The break was found Sunday along Route 164 in Taylor Township. A portion of 164, from the intersection with Route 36 and Plum Creek Road is closed while work continues.

Crews hope to have it fixed by Monday night. One neighbor affected by the break is frustrated from being without water for two days.

“We've been bringing bottled water home, heating in it and bathing in it,” said Jeannie Hamilton, “Heating snow to flush the toilet things like that.”

She says the borough has not given her or her neighbors any information about the break.

Spring Cove School District, which is at the intersection, was not in session due to Presidents Day.
