Colonel Gerald Russell Laid to Rest

A highly decorated marine in WWII and a central PA hero has been buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
Colonel Gerald Russell was one of the most decorated Marines in WWII and a central Pennsylvania hometown hero. He was laid to rest yesterday at Arlington National Cemetery. He's remembered by friends and family as a man with honor.

Russell joined the Marine Corps after college, commanding troops in WWII, Korean, and served in Vietnam.

He died in February at age 97.
