If mom and dad are looking at their smartphones, who's paying attention to the kids? Boston University Researchers watched 55 caregivers at fast food restaurants, with one or more young children.
They found 40 of the adults used mobile devices during the meal. Caregivers who were highly absorbed in their phones, often responded harshly when their child misbehaved.
Researchers say many of the kids being ignored, seemed to be testing their limits and acting up. The study is in the current issue of the Journal Pediatrics.
