Board of Trustees Updated on President Search

The reason for the cancellation of Friday's public meeting was explained in an executive session.
UNIVERSITY PARK, CENTRE COUNTY – It was announced Friday the Presidential Selection Council is continuing their process of finding a new Penn State President.

The Board of Trustees were briefed on the progress of the search during an executive session Friday morning. It was determined earlier in the week more time was needed to consider possible candidates.

The public meeting originally scheduled for Friday morning was cancelled. It was rumored a new Penn State President would be announced at that meeting.

Nearly 400 people have been contacted regarding the position since the search began to replace Rodney Erickson, who will step down in June 2014.
