Beating the Bully

Bullying can happen anywhere and to anyone.
DUBOIS, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Half of students will experience some form of bullying during their time in school and 35-50% of adults will be bullied in the workplace according to statistics shared by John Lobb PhD, Psychologist. Lobb has worked for the Penn Highlands DuBois Behavioral Health Services for over 30 years and works with people who are bullied.

He says it is about power and states "The individual wins by taking control".

Lobb plans to share his thoughts and show the documentary "Bully" on May 10th at the Central Resource Center at Penn Highlands DuBois. The event will last from 9:00am - 12:00pm and anyone is invited to attend.

Penn Highlands DuBois presents the Bully movie and information from John W. Lobb, Ph D, a licensed psychologist, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 10, in the Central Resource Center at PH DuBois West, Hospital Avenue, DuBois.

The Bully movie is a documentary has been shown across the country to help educate people on bullying as a problem.

Dr. Lobb will address the following topics during his presentation:

Identifying and debunking the myths of bully behavior;
Identifying the various bully types and how they bully;
Learning the effects bullies have on their victims;
Identifying how the actions of witnesses to bullies effects bully behavior;
Learn the progression of bully behavior from childhood to adulthood;
Identify the parallel between school-age bully behavior and bullying in the workplace;
Identify interventional strategies to address bully behavior at school and the workplace.
