Bearcats' Comeback Falls Short

Huntingdon's 19 unanswered points in the 2nd half not enough to erase 1st half deficit.

WINGATE - The Huntingdon Bearcats fought to the very end, but were unable to spoil Bald Eagle's Homecoming, losing 49-47.

The Eagles scored all of their points in the first half and had to hold off the Bearcats, who scored 19 in the 2nd half to close the gap to within two.

Huntingdon's offense was led by Devon Claar, who carried the ball 16 times for 147 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also caught a TD pass. Rhett Stetchock added three touchdowns.

But those impressive performances weren't enough to overcome Bald Eagle's Dakota Bartley and Bryan Greene. Bartley finished with 200 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Greene caught one TD and scored another on a 77-yard kickoff return.

Huntingdon (3-4) is home against Philipsburg-Osceola (1-6) this Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
