New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays and Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies will captain the American League and National League teams for this year's All-Star Home Run Derby, to be held July 14 at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Bautista is the current leader in All-Star balloting and will participate in his third Home Run Derby. Tulowitzki, the NL leading vote-getter, will be in the competition for the first time.

There will be a new format to the event this year, held on the eve of the All- Star Game. There will be seven outs per round and bracketed competition after the first round.

Five players from each league will be in the opening round. The player that hits the most homers in the each league will get automatic berths in the semifinals (third round). The next two players from each league (AL 2 vs. AL 3, NL 2 vs. NL 3) will battle head-to-head in the second round with the winners advancing to the semifinals to play the top seed. The participant from each league with the most home runs will advance to the finals to vie for the crown of Home Run Derby champion.

Bautista and Tulowitzki will pick the other four players for their respective teams. Bautista was in the 2011 and 2012 competitions.
