Bath Salts Involved in Shootout

He said that he had a shot gun, and Ledford had an AK-47.  Lemin was armed with a handgun.
HUNTINGDON, HUNTINGDON COUNTY - Police said dozens of bullets were fired in what could be described as a shootout on Wednesday afternoon that sent one man to the hospital and three to jail.

According to the Criminal Complaint, the shooting happened at about 5 p.m. Wednesday inside a basement apartment at 1211 Mifflin St., Apt. #4, Huntingdon, Huntingdon County.

When police arrived they said they found that Joshua Lemin had been shot several times.

Police said that William Ledford Jr., 23, lived in the apartment.  Along with Ledford, Rex Cuff and Dustin Scott were also at the scene, when police arrived.

Police said that Scott told them what happened.

Here's his story, according to Criminal Complaint:

Scott said that Cuff, Lemin, Ledford and he, were at Ledford's apartment.  Scott said that another man - Jeremiah Shoop, 31 of 1224 Warm Springs Ave., Huntingdon, Huntingdon County - had been calling Ledford, recently, and threatening his life.

Scott told police that he believed that Shoop wanted Ledford's bath salts.

Scott said that Shoop told Ledford that he was coming over on Wednesday afternoon.

Ledford began to hand out guns to, according to Scott.  He said that he had a shot gun, and Ledford had an AK-47.  Lemin was armed with a handgun.

Scott said that Shoop arrived and began pulling on the apartment door, yelling "come out pussy".  Scott said he recognized Shoop's voice.  Scott also said that Ledford responded, "I'll shoot you."

Scott said they had turned off all the lights in Ledford's apartment to take cover because they were scared.

Scott said he, Ledford and Lemin began firing shots in the direction of the door.

Police said dozens of bullet casings and bullet holes were found throughout the apartment, and several rounds had traveled outside the home.

During the shootout, Scott said that he thought Shoop came inside.  He said he saw a dark figure standing in front of the couch, and he said Ledford yelled, "Shoot! Shoot!"

Scott said he fired in that direction and then realized that it wasn't Shoop but was Lemin.  Scott told police he said, "I shot Josh."

Police said Lemin got shot in the arm, and emergency workers said that the plug from the shot gun shell was lodged in his shirt.

Police also interviewed Cuff, who according to police, verified Scott's story.  Cuff told police that he called 9-1-1 with Lemin's phone.  Cuff said it was "crazy"; he said everyone in the apartment was shooting.

Police also interviewed Shoop.

Shoop told police that he went to Ledford's apartment and yelled for him to come outside.  Shoop said he then left the apartment.  He said he did hear a couple of "bangs" but didn't think much of it.

Shoop did admit to have unpleasant phone conversations with Ledford prior to this incident.  He also told police about an argument the two got into at Ledford's apartment on Tuesday, May 10th.
