ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY - Two years ago, it was considered the savior of Atlantic City's casino industry.

Now, Revel Casino hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey will close Tuesday.

The troubled casino began the shutting down process on Monday.

The $2.4 Billion casino opened in 2012 but struggled to make a profit.

Revel is the third casino in a Atlantic City to shut down this year.

Showboat locked its doors on Sunday and the Atlantic Club closed in January.
