Analysts Warn of Rising Food Costs

Strong global demand could raise milk prices in the next few months.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Concern is growing that consumers could be hit hard by rising prices over the next couple months.

Analysts warned the cost of a gallon of milk could increase by as much as 60 cents in March due to supply and demand issues.

The drought in California and strong demand from overseas combined with stagnant production could be a major factor in the price of milk across the country.

The price may go up some in Pennsylvania, but nothing large in is expected in the next several months.

The price of beef is also expected to increase by as much as 10 percent by this coming summer. The cost of animal feed has also increased over the past several months.
