AKRON, OHIO - Gregory Polanco knocked in all three runs as the Curve took down the Akron Aeros, 3-1 on Friday night at Canal Park. The victory was the second straight for the Curve on the four-game road trip to Akron.

Mel Rojas Jr. got the offense going early with a lead-off single to start off the game. Adalberto Santos doubled to put runners at second and third with no one out. Gregory Polanco followed with a two-run double to put the Curve in front, 2-0.

Nick Kingham picked up right where Eliecer Navarro left off on Thursday night on the mound. The right-hander did not allow a run until surrendering a single tally in the bottom of the fifth inning, which made it a 2-1 contest. The run in the fifth for the Aeros snapped a string of 13 scoreless innings by the Curve pitching staff to start the series.

Kingham turned in his first quality start of the season working six innings allowing six hits and the one earned run. He issued only two walks while striking out four.

Jhonathan Ramos worked a pair of scoreless frames in relief striking out three to preserve the Curve lead. Polanco tacked on an insurance run with an RBI-single in the top half of the eighth inning.

Luis Sanz finished things off working around a lead-off walk to earn his eleventh save of the season. Sanz has converted all 11 of his save chance this season for Altoona.

Rojas Jr. had a huge day at the plate finishing 4-for-5, scoring a pair of runs, and fell just a home run shy of the cycle. Polanco and Andy Vasquez also turned in multi-hit efforts at the plate.

Game three of the four game set is slated for 7:05 p.m. on Saturday. RHP Jameson Taillon (3-5, 2.94) will head to the mound for the Curve. Taillon will make his third start of the season against the Aeros and is 0-1 with a 2.77 ERA against Akron this season. He will be opposed by RHP Zach McAllister (NR). McAllister will be making a rehab start for the Aeros and is expected to throw four innings.
