Coal Museum Conserving Heritage

The town of Coalport is based on the booming coal industry from many years ago. Today that heritage is being conserved in a coal museum.
The town of Coalport is rich in coal mining history. In fact, the name actually came from a raft used to move coal down the Clearfield Creek many years ago. This is a history that is fading away, and thats why the community came together in 1991 to open a museum and conserve the heritage of the coal mining region.
