Child Protection Bills Signed

Ten bills signed into law aimed at improving child protection laws.
HARRISBURG - Ten bills have been signed into law aimed at making improvements to Pennsylvania's child protection laws.

The bills establish the offense of luring a child into a motor vehicle or structure and officially broaden the definition of perpetrator to include employees or volunteers that have regular contact with children, among other things.

Governor Tom Corbett signed all the bills into law on Wednesday and applauded what he called a bi-partisan effort.

"I thank the General assembly for their work in passing the first pieces of comprehensive package to protect Pennsylvania's children," Corbett said. "This legislation I'm signing today will better equip our communities to protect children, and enhance the safety and security of the commonwealth's children."
