RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- A Somerset County man was arrested for breaking into an equipment store and stealing thousands in chainsaws.
Jeffrey Weible was arrested Christmas Day. Police said he used a hammed to smash through the front doors at Western Central Equipment on Eisenhower Boulevard.
“Officers spotted a car attempted to pull him over but he took off,” said Richland Township Police Chief Mike Burgan. “He eventually pulled over and officers saw the equipment in his car.”
Police seized the stolen chainsaws and put Weible into custody. In the criminal complaint he admitted to the theft and others at a sister store in Somerset County.
The 29-year old is in the Cambria County jail on $50,000 bond he is facing charges in both Cambria and Somerset Counties.
