Glasgow, PA - Political newcomer, Randall Wilson (R) of Glasgow, PA officially announces his candidacy for PA House of Representatives in the 73rd District. The seat is currently held by Representative Gary Haluska (D).
Mr. Wilson is currently employed by WTAJ-TV in Altoona as the Director of Information Technology. He has been with the station since 2006. He has also worked for PPG Industries in Tipton, Bayer Clothing Group in Clearfield, and Mid-State Bank's Operation Centers in Bellwood and Altoona.
In the 1990s, Wilson served in both the United States Navy as a Cryptologist and the Pennsylvania National Guard as a Nuclear Biological Chemical NCO.
In 2001, Wilson graduated with honors from Penn State University with a Bachelors Degree in LAS with an emphasis in Instructional Systems. In 2002, he graduated with a degree in Information Sciences and Technology. He is a lifetime member of the Penn State University Alumni Association and a member of the PSU Nittany Lion Club.
Mr. Wilson is married to Christine Wilson, a quality consultant with Aetna Inc. Mrs. Wilson is also a graduate of Penn State University. They have five children between them.
Mr. Wilson is a volunteer firefighter for the Reade Township Volunteer Fire Company in Blandburg. He has been with the fire company since he was 14 years old.
Mr. Wilson's campaign will be centered on the theme of the free citizen and the proper role of a limited constitutional republic. Wilson would like to "responsibly and prudently reduce the size, scope, and power of the state government, and return power, money, and prestige to the individual citizen, where possible, and to local levels of government."
