Borough Ready for Theatre Fight to End

The long fight is having a negative impact on tax revenues.
BELLEFONTE, CENTRE COUNTY – While the legal battle over the Garman Theatre continues, the Bellefonte Borough is ready for it to be over.

The Bellefonte Industrial Development Authority filed a motion this week to have the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association’s request for an injunction thrown out. The BCHA is trying to keep the developer from demolishing the Garman Theatre until it has time for an appeal.

Borough Manager Ralph Stewart says the longer the fight continues the more legal fees the borough is collecting, which comes out of resident tax revenues.
