Bearcats' 4th Quarter Stand Preserves Win

Game that features high-flying offenses comes down to defense.

HUNTINGDON - It took a late-game stand, but Huntingdon held off Penns Valley in a battle of offenses to win, 34-28.

The Bearcats' Devon Claar scored four touchdowns-- three rushing, including a 65-yarder in the first half, and one receiving on a 47 yard pass from QB Hudson Speck. Claar ran for 151 yards on ten carries.

Huntingdon led, 28-14 at the half, but Penns Valley scored a pair of touchdowns around a Bearcat TD to pull within six by the end of the 3rd quarter.

Huntingdon's defense preserved the lead by stopping the Rams on four straight plays at the goal line late in the 4th quarter.

Penns Valley QB Cameron Tobias went 19-for-27 for 238 yards and threw one TD pass.

Huntingdon (2-3) heads to Central Mountain (1-4) on Friday, Oct. 4.
