A teenager escaped an attempted abduction at an area mall. Now police want you to help them find the suspect. It happened in broad daylight outside of the Clearfield mall. Luckily the 19-year-old girl escaped, but the police warn that this man is still on the loose. The attempted abduction happened just after noon Friday. The teenage victim was sitting in front of JCPennys eating her lunch when she says she noticed someone unusual. "He was just driving around in his bronco three or four times around parking lot, looking at me smiling weird look on his face, you could tell hew as a little creepy." Now police believe the vehicle was actually a Ford Explorer, but say that it had a tire on the back with a tire cover that said “Bronco.” The victim says the man stopped just feet away from her and left his door wide open as he rushed towards her. "I thought he was going to ask me a question but that wasnt the case. He went out to grab me, put his arms out. I covered my head and screamed." When she screamed she says the man jumped back in the explorer and sped away. The victim is brave. She says shes happy the suspect didnt set his eyes on anyone else. "Im glad it happened to me rather than someone smaller like a little girl." But she does want this man caught so that it doesnt happen again, and she wants all women to be on the lookout. "Carry something for your protection, fight for your life….we have a right to feel safe and you can’t feel safe with a guy like that out there." The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s. Hes about six feet tall with a thin build and large teeth. The victim says hes very pale with large bags under his eyes. If you have any information youre asked to call the Lawrence Township Police. This is the second attempted abduction in Clearfield County in the last three weeks. The first one happened early in the morning July 4th in DuBois. Police say the woman was walking along S. Main Street alone when a man pulled up in a van, or SUV. She says the man pulled her in the vehicle and tried to rip her clothes off. She was able to escape. Police are now warning women to never walk alone. If you have any information on this case you’re asked to call the DuBois City Police.
