A hospital in our region has won state recognition today for its efforts to deliver consistant quality care.
Somerset Hospital received the state's Award For Excellence In Health Care Compliance. It's one of seven selected to receive that recognition out of 220 health care facilities in the state.
The Department of Health conducts about 2,000 inspections every year at all hospitals across the state, and also investigates complaints.
Hospitals that receive the award must have no health citations and no major safety code deficiencies during their last inspection.
