A more comfortable air mass will slip into the area tonight.
Updated: Sunday Evening, September 8th, 2013
Reported by: Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo

A cold front slipped southward across the area today bringing more clouds than sunshine. It was still a bit warm and humid today but a more comfortable air mass will slip into the area tonight with a partly to mostly clear sky. Temperatures will drop into the 40s near and north of I-80 and into the lower 50s farther to the south. Monday will start off with some sunshine but an approaching warm front will quickly bring some clouds. Because of the clouds, it will not be too warm on Monday with highs in the lower to middle 70s. In fact, if the clouds increase faster than anticipated, then some spots may get stuck in the 60s. There is a slight chance for a sprinkle in a few spots later Monday into Monday night. Behind the warm front, very warm and humid air will return to the region Tuesday into Wednesday. There will be some hazy sunshine each day with a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm Tuesday and a little better chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm in spots on Wednesday. The next front will bring more clouds with scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm on Thursday. This is a strong front, and behind it, we'll have a chilly end to the work week. Friday will be breezy and cool with a fair amount of clouds with just the chance for some peeks of sunshine during the afternoon. Temperatures will not leave the 60s Friday. Saturday will also be cool despite a good deal of sunshine.
