Emergency crews in Bradford County are dealing with the aftermath of an acid spill.
LEROY TOWNSHIP, BRADFORD COUNTY - Emergency crews in Bradford County are dealing with the aftermath of an acid spill.

A Chief Oil and Gas spokesman says about 47 hundred gallons of hydrochloric acid spilled at a well pad in Leroy Township on July 4th. The local fire chief is blaming human error.

The gas company says about 800 gallons escaped the containment pond and 50 gallons got in the soil.

The DEP is testing the water in nearby creeks. And clean-up crews have been trying to neutralize the acid with lime.

Officials haven't released the exact cause.
